1. Klipsch Palladium P-39F Espresso Floorstanding Speakers

1. Klipsch Palladium P-39F Espresso Floorstanding Speakers

Pros:

  • They have a very curvy look to them
  • Expertly designed
  • Great if you like to listen to your stuff loud!
  • Klipsch quality through and through

Cons:

  • Colors may not be to everyone’s taste
  • Curvy design may not flow with your room

I have owned and tested many Klipsch speakers over the years so getting the chance to take a closer look at some of their more expensive models was really cool. How can you not love the design of these? They have a wood grain type of style going that is in what they call an espresso color. I love this! The speakers are also very curvy which I think helps give them a ton of personality and the whole design just reeks of elegance. These are speakers that would not just be in your room for sound, these are showcase speakers and they will really make people say wow when they see them.

The Klipsch Palladium P-39F Espresso Floorstanding Speakers do cost over 8 grand so they are worth a spot on our best floor standing speakers under $10,000 list. But what about the sound? It boasts triple 9-inch woofers along with a 4.5-inch horn-loaded midrange one and a 0.75-inch horn-loaded tweeter. These speakers also have what Klipsch call “Bass-reflex enclosure with triple side-firing ports” which will make the sound fill the room and be very rich. If you love to listen to your music loud, but still want to keep the quality high or if you want a set of speakers for your home theatre that are going to give you cinema quality sound. I think these are the perfect set of speakers for you. I really do not have anything bad to say about them, they are that good!

What Other People Are Saying

If you want this Klipsch Palladium P-39F Espresso Floorstanding Speaker, you can see just how proud they are of this speaker. Talking about how sensitive the sound is and how great they look. I have yet to hear anyone say a bad word about these speakers, even the online reviews you read are all very, very positive.

While the asking price may be high there is no denying that the  Klipsch Palladium P-39F Espresso Floorstanding Speakers are truly amazing. I love the espresso design, but they do have two other colors. I feel that if you want some epic speakers and have a lot of money to play with, you will struggle to beat these.

2. Focal Electra 1038 BE 3-Way Bass-Reflex Floorstanding Speakers

2. Focal Electra 1038 BE 3-Way Bass-Reflex Floorstanding Speakers

Pros:

  • The black gloss finish is epic
  • Amazing vocal clarity
  • Every instrument sounds great
  • Awesome if you love loud movies too!

Cons:

  • Gloss finish can get dirty
  • The bottom of the speakers is kind of empty

With their high gloss design the Focal Electra 1038 BE 3-Way Bass-Reflex Floorstanding Speakers had me practically selling off one of my kids the moment I saw them. I am a real sucker for speakers that are black, sleek and very cool looking and that is exactly what these bad boys are. I know that a gloss finish is not to everyone’s taste, especially if you have kids with sticky fingers! But you must admit that these look cool. While I do like wood grain style speakers and think they have an elegance about them. The way these black speakers look reminds me of the rough and tough 80’s when everything was black!

The guys and gals at Focal Electra are real audiophiles so I knew I was in for a treat with these. I actually was on a bit of a Motley Crue kick when these were sent to me and I was blown away. Home Sweet Home was breathtaking. Any song that has a real diverse sound like Home Sweet Home is made all the better with these. You hear each and every note, each instrument and they are just so crisp, even at loud volumes. I actually got shouted at by my wife for having them too loud, even though she was yelling I am sure she appreciated the vocal clarity! The three 7 inch woofers really do kick some major ass and even for things like loud action movies (I watched Terminator 2 through these and it was epic) will knock your socks off. I do feel that the more I listened to them the better they broke in, but that is not a bad thing at all.

What Other People Are Saying

I am a big fan of Home Theater Review and they gave these speakers a real glowing review. They like me were blown away by the sound quality and had this to say. The first thing that struck me about the 1038Be’s performance was the scale in which it presented the performance, both vocally and instrumentally”. The vocals in particular were very impressive and if you love music with strong vocals like Vince Neil from Motley Crue or a Jon Bon Jovi you will be amazed at how good they sound.

I fell in love with the Focal Electra 1038 BE 3-Way Bass-Reflex Floorstanding Speakers the moment I saw them. The design is just so cool that if you love black furniture like I do, these will be something you really do find neat. The sound quality though is even more impressive. No matter if you are a rocker, lover of classical or for some strange reason a fan of New Kids on the Block the sound will be great as no matter what you pump through these it sounds fantastic.

3. Earthquake Tigris Dual 8″ / 2″ / 1″ 3 Way 500 Watt Audiophile Home Theater Tower Speakers

3. Earthquake Tigris Dual 8" / 2" / 1" 3 Way 500 Watt Audiophile Home Theater Tower Speakers

Pros:

  • Very interesting design
  • I love the little tweeter on the top
  • Sound is amazing
  • Very good build quality

Cons:

  • They can cost real close to 10 grand
  • Will the kids break the mini tweeter?

Let’s face it the first thing that captures your eye about the Earthquake Tigris Dual 8″ / 2″ / 1″ 3 Way 500 Watt Audiophile Home Theater Tower Speakers is that little dome tweeter that sits right on the top. This is such an interesting design choice and one that I really do not think (well off the top of my head anyway) that I have ever actually seen before. These are great looking speakers, as you may know, I have a real thing for black speakers and these manage to look both cool and elegant. The only thing with the design is that if you have kids that dome tweeter on the top may be very tempting for them to mess around with.

Sound quality wise as well as the dome tweeter these speakers also have a 2 ball done tweeter and a pair of Kevlar mid-bass woofers. This gives you a very rich sound. I played a few live albums with these and was very happy. Although I will say that out of the box they were not what I expected, but after listening to a few albums they really started to come into their own. I really would have liked to have put a couple hundred hours into these if I am honest to break them right in. These can be a little hard to come by these days and when you do track them down you will be looking at about 8-9 grand. Still when it comes to the best floor standing speakers under $10,000. If you ask me you really cannot go wrong with these if you want awesome sound, but with a unique kind of design.

What Other People Are Saying

“The tall speaker, with high mounted midrange and tweeter resulted in a very tall and expansive soundstage. This gave me some of the most realistically sized images I’ve heard in my room, with vocals sounding about the height of a standing person”. Is what Home Theater High Fidelity had to say about these speakers and I would agree. While all music sounds great, live music in particular really impressed me.

The Earthquake Tigris Dual 8″ / 2″ / 1″ 3 Way 500 Watt Audiophile Home Theater Tower Speakers are some of the most professional speakers I have ever had the pleasure to use. I do think that there is quite a bit of breaking in required to get them to their peak, but that just gives you an excuse to watch a ton of movies or listen to a lot of music!

4. Bang & Olufsen B&O BeoLab 18 with Oak finish Lamella Speakers New pair

Bang & Olufsen B&O BeoLab 18 with Oak finish Lamella Speakers New pair

Pros:

  • They are certainly unique
  • Great sound quality
  • Not read one bad review about them
  • Incredibly well made

Cons:

  • They can cost close to 9 grand!
  • The style may not suit everyone

Next up we have these Bang & Olufsen B&O BeoLab 18 with Oak finish Lamella Speakers which are some of the funkiest and weirdest looking speakers that I have ever seen. I am not sure if these should be in my living room, home theatre or an art gallery in France! The style of these is clearly not for everyone and to be honest these would not fit into my setup. However, I do know that some people want their speakers to make a statement from their appearance just as much as the sound and these will certainly get people asking you “what the heck are those?” The bottom of them looks really neat and is one of the standout pieces actually, but I do worry about if you have kids and if they were to run into them.

From my understanding, these speakers are designed with all kinds of music in mind. But, a buddy of mine told me that they sound phenomenal with acoustic and live music which is great as I am a huge fan of unplugged albums, especially the Bon Jovi one. The loudspeaker has some phenomenal kick and these will really knock your socks off. I feel that no matter what kind of music you are into you will be very happy with the sound quality of these. No matter if you are into music or if you want high end speakers to give your movies that extra kick you feel they have been missing.

What Other People Are Saying

Over at T3.com, they had this to say. “The specs include transmission of 24-bit, uncompressed audio at sampling rates of 32, 44.1, 48 and 96 kilohertz, with a speaker-to-speaker delay of 160 nanoseconds. In more simple terms, it should sound great.” They do of course talk about the high price tag and sexy design, but it is more the talk of how well made these speakers are from a sound point of view that I think makes this such an interest read.

I know that the Bang & Olufsen B&O BeoLab 18 with Oak finish Lamella Speakers are certainly an acquired taste as far as their design goes. However, this I feel is going to be what makes or breaks them for you. They are the kind of speakers that some folks will look at and say yuck. On the flip side of this though I can also see some people looking at these and being blown away. It is also important to realize that the sound quality these produce is truly incredible which I feel gets overlooked due to the interesting design.

5. Tannoy Kensington GR floor standing speakers

Tannoy Kensington GR floor standing speakers

Pros:

  • Awesome retro look
  • Big, bad and tough!
  • Very clear and high quality sound
  • Fantastic build quality all throughout

Cons:

  • Price can be very high
  • Retro design is not everyone’s cup of tea

These are the kind of speakers that bands like Iron Maiden, Guns n Roses and Poison would rock out to on stage with back in the 80’s, Words cannot say how much I love the retro design of these Tannoy Kensington GR floor standing speakers. They are huge and they look the like kind of speakers that could blow the glass right out of the windows if you cranked the sound up too high! I am fully aware that the design of these is certainly an acquired taste, but if you love big, chunky badass looking speakers that look like they were ripped out of the 80’s you will get a real kick out of these.

I did not actually get the chance to test these out, but I really wanted to include them on this list as I think they look so cool. I can tell you that these speakers do have a lot of kick to them so if you like loud music you are really going to be in heaven here. What I think sounds great about these speakers though is the way that they have not made them so that they just go super loud. You do not lose any of the small details when it comes to the music and the vocals never become distorted even at loud volumes. I have to say listening to something like Seventh Son of a Seventh Son on these would be epic! They can run real close to the ten grand mark though so there is that to watch for.

What Other People Are Saying

The good people at What Hi-Fi had a lot of great things to say about these speakers such as this. “Then, there’s the bass. While it comes as no surprise a speaker this size produces lots of it, we’re impressed by the Tannoy’s quality. They’re subtle, textured and articulate.” Hearing them get all giddy over the bass really makes me wish I could have had the pleasure to have my wife yelling at me for having these too loud!

If you love the retro design then I have no doubt that you will love these speakers. They have gone for a 80’s style and for me you do not get any cooler than that. Thankfully these speakers are not just all bark, they have some serious bite to them as well as they have some great internals that result in them having some truly incredible and high quality sound.

6. Polk Audio Open Box LSiM Five Speaker Home Theater Bundle

6. Polk Audio Open Box LSiM Five Speaker Home Theater Bundle

Pros:

  • The wood grain design is really nice
  • Comes with a very decent receiver
  • Center speaker is great
  • As are the bookshelf speakers

Cons:

  • It can be a little pricey
  • Wood grain may not go with the rest of your room

I really wanted to have a bundle for you guys to consider. I know that we are looking at the best floor standing speakers under $10,000, but I thought some of you guys might want a full home theatre experience for this kind of money. The floor standing speakers that come with this set are the 2x LSiM705 47″ Superior Performance Floorstanding Tower Speaker. As well as this though you get two of their high quality bookshelf (rear) speakers, a center speaker and even a pretty darn good receiver for the money. I love the wood grain style of this and I think that for around 8 thousand bucks this is a great buy.

I have actually used the 2x LSiM705 47″ Superior Performance Floorstanding Tower Speaker that are part of this set and I was actually very happy with the sound quality. I am a huge fan of Polk Audio and even their lower priced (not that this is one of them) speakers produce good sound. For a surround sound experience, this would be a great buy, I think most people are going to be blown away by the sound quality this package produces and for movies I really do think that you have something pretty awesome on your hands here. Also, there is the fact that this set looks very elegant and classy so it is going to be something you are proud to have in your home.

What Other People Are Saying

While there is no talking in this 2x LSiM705 47″ Superior Performance Floorstanding Tower Speakers YouTube video I do think that it showcases the sound quality of these speakers very well. Not only that you can also see how cool they will look in your own home. From this video (which I know is kind of hard to tell through your computer speakers) you get a sense of how rich the sound that these speakers provide is and that is certainly going to be awesome for movies, especially ones that are designed with surround sound in mind. It could be worth paying that little extra to get a surround sound setup so that is worth considering

I really like the 2x LSiM705 47″ Superior Performance Floorstanding Tower Speaker bundle. These are not cheap floor standing speakers, you are looking at least two grand for these on their own, so getting this whole set for the price you can get it for is not bad at all. If you want more than just floor standing speakers and want to get the whole package all at once. You could do a heck of a lot worse than this one here.

7. Klipsch 7.1.2 Walnut System – 2 RP-8060FA Dolby Atmos Speakers

7. Klipsch 7.1.2 Walnut System - 2 RP-8060FA Dolby Atmos Speakers

Pros:

  • Wood they have used is super strong
  • Atmos sound is great for movies
  • Has four surround sound speakers
  • High quality all throughout

Cons:

  • Not ideal if you do not want surround sound
  • Do your care for the dark walnut design?

Last, but not least is another bundle, but at around 5 grand the Klipsch 7.1.2 Walnut System – 2 RP-8060FA Dolby Atmos Speakers bundle is a bit more friendly to your wallet. So what is included. Well as far as the floor standing speakers go, you are getting 2 Klipsch RP-8060FA Floorstanding Speakers. A 1 Klipsch RP-404C Center Speaker and four, yes four! Surround sound speakers as well. This set does not come with a receiver though so that is something you have to take into consideration. As far as the style goes, my buddies at Klipsch have once again knocked it out of the park with this set as they have gone for this really dark brown walnut color and I love it. If you want your home theater to be more on the classy side then this is the kind of setup you want to take a closer look at.

I can tell you that the 2 Klipsch RP-8060FA Floorstanding Speakers are great. Two big and powerful woofers give the sound some serious kick and that center speaker is no slouch either. So you are going to be blasted with great sound from the front and having four surround sound speakers to make use of lets you position the rear and side speakers just the way you want. I really like this configuration of four extra speakers to play with and it is something that I know I would have a lot of fun with. While movies are the clear go to with a setup like this. I think sitting in a room with your favorite album hitting you from all angles would be pretty epic. While you would need to buy a receiver to get the most out of this I do think this is a great buy and something that is actually on my maybe pile for when I get a new setup for my home theatre.

What Other People Are Saying

There are some great reviews on Google for these speakers and one that caught my attention was this “Watching Atmos enabled movies makes home theater experience on a whole different level then your typical Atmos soundbar. You feel as if bullets are flying above your head or those voices coming from the movie are really in your head. It’s crazy to talk about but even crazier to listen to”. I think that having great sound for your movies is awesome and these speakers will certainly give you amazing sound!

I am not joking when I say that this is a set that is on my radar. I know that we are looking at just floor standing speakers today, but the ones that come with this set really are great. I love the overall design and the fact you get all those extra speakers to play with so you can get that real cinema sound is awesome. I also think that the price of around the five grand mark is not bad at all.

What Are The 7 Best Floor Standing Speakers Under $10,000?

This is a real tough choice as at this price range it is very hard to really tell a huge difference in the sound. That is because none of these speakers are made with any cost cutting measure like you get with speakers that cost a hundred bucks. I actually have a tie for this the two that really stand out for me are first of all the, Klipsch Palladium P-39F Espresso Floorstanding Speakers. I really like the design and the sound quality really is phenomenal. The only negative is that very high price tag. The other speakers that I love are the Focal Electra 1038 BE 3-Way Bass-Reflex Floorstanding Speakers. The sound blew me away and I loved the black gloss design of these which I know may not be to everyone’s taste.

Make sure you do your own research before you buy, but all of the speakers and bundles I have looked at today are worthy of being in the best floor standing speakers under $10,000 discussion. If you feel after reading this, you would not want to invest so much into floor standing speakers, perhaps you might want to consider those under $5000 or under $2000 or even under $1000 if you are looking at gifting one of them to your family or friends. Or if you are looking at gifting it to someone less close to you, you may also consider looking at those floorstanding speakers under $500 and those under $300.
