I have been into rock music since the 80s that is why we are looking for the best floor standing speakers under $4000 for rock music. I was lucky to grow up with a dad who listened to stuff like Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Guns n Roses and so on and those three bands are three of my favorites to this day. So, when I look for a set of speakers, I want a set that can well and truly rock.
Always Know What You Are Buying
While the point of you reading this is, of course, to know what speakers I think are best. The fact of the matter is when you are spending this kind of money you have to look at other reviews and get as much information as you can. 4 grand is no small chunk of change and it would be crazy to spend this kind of money and not know what you are buying.
You owe it to yourself to read as many Amazon reviews or other tech site reviews as possible and this way you will be as well informed as possible. Also, if you know what you are buying, you have more reasons to tell your wife or significant other as to why these new speakers are an essential purchase.
The 6 Best Floor Standing Speakers Under $4000 for Rock Music
Ok, my hard rocking amigo’s here is the main event. I managed to test out a few of these awesome speakers that we are going to be looking at. However, I have also handpicked another few sets of speakers that I think are pretty badass and rocking.
1: Polk Audio LSiM707 Floor Standing Speaker
2: Focal 2 Pack Chorus 716 2.5-Way Bass Reflex Floor Standing Speakers
3: Klipsch RF-7 III Floorstanding Speaker Pair
4: MartinLogan Motion 60XT Cherrywood Floorstanding Speakers
5: Klipsch 5.1 Walnut System 2 RP-8000F Floorstanding Speakers
6: Klipsch Forte III Heritage Series Tower Speakers
1. Polk Audio LSiM707 Floor Standing Speaker
Pros:
- They look great
- They are available in different colors if you shop around
- The bass is amazing
- The base of these has a very interesting design
Cons:
- The break-in time
- They are close to 4 grand
The first set of speakers we are looking at are these very “classy” looking, Polk Audio LSiM707 Floor Standing Speakers. I am sure that these are probably available in other colors, but these ones are in a very nice Vernon cherry style of red. I really do think that these look fantastic and would certainly be a showcase in any room that they are in. They are priced at just under the 4 thousand dollar mark so they are very close to our price point.
The LSiM707 are the flagship brand from the people at Polk so it goes without saying that these speakers have all their best tech inside. Oval subwoofer drivers make any rock album you are listening to sound that much more “real”. I am very impressed with the sound that these produce. I do feel that you have to break them in just right to get the best out of them, but man it is worth it. One of my favorite albums is Seventh Son of a Seventh Son by Iron Maiden and it sounded amazing coming through these speakers. I was blown away at not just how powerful the bass was, but also how it perfectly blended with the rest of the sound.
What Other People Are Saying
One review that I read on Amazon had this to say,” Madonna sounded like she was present in the room or you could say I thought I was at the concert.” I may not be a Madonna fan, but I get what this person is saying. The music really does feel real and raw and it does actually knock your socks off the first time you listen to one of your favorite albums on it.
Video review from CO Guy Stuff.
I am very impressed with the Polk Audio LSiM707 Floor Standing Speakers. These look amazing right from the top to that awesome looking base they have. The sound is truly incredible and I really do not see anyone being disappointed with these speakers. The price is high, but to be fair so is the quality. These speakers are going to be hard to beat in our quest for the best floor standing speakers under $4000 for rock music!
2. Focal 2 Pack Chorus 716 2.5-Way Bass Reflex Floor Standing Speakers
Pros:
- They have a really cool 80s kind of style
- The way they cut distortion is very clever
- Some impressive tech inside these
- Asking price is the best on this list
Cons:
- They might not be as “fancy” as you would like
- Some might think they look a little too 80s
As you would expect from an 80s rocker, I have a love for black stereo equipment. These Focal 2 Pack Chorus 716 2.5-Way Bass Reflex Floor Standing Speakers have a style that I really like. They just scream cool and they are certainly a set of speakers that go great with the rest of my setup. These speakers can be found for at all ends of the pricing spectrum if you shop around, but I have seen them go for as low as a thousand bucks. I love the shine on the sides of the speakers, but my kids’ sticky fingers I am sure will mess these up. Still, they do have a lot of presence about them and I am sure Mr. Axl Rose will be happy knowing his vocals are coming out of these.
The sound quality of these is great. The speakers have this clever front port on them that is there to prevent distortion. As I did not notice any distortion at all, even when cranked up I can say that it works. There are two 6.5-inch woofers powering these and I really do not have any complaints with the quality at all. These may not be the most exciting speakers to talk about when it comes to what is powering them. However, I can tell you that they do a really kick ass job.
What Other People Are Saying
I found a really good YouTube video that showcases these speakers. Now granted the person doing the review is not doing it in English. The reason I picked this video was that if you skip it forward a couple of minutes you can hear these speakers rocking out with some prog rock. You can get a sense of how good the vocals, as well as the actual music, are coming out of these. Here’s another review from a buyer on Crutchfield.
I am very impressed with the Focal 2 Pack Chorus 716 2.5-Way Bass Reflex Floor Standing Speakers. Just because you have 4 thousand bucks to play with does not mean you have to spend it all. These are some great speakers that offer a very nice and loud sound that has no distortion, even when at higher volumes. I know they may lack the wow factor you might want when you have this kind of money to burn. However, if you are looking for something that is going to leave you with a lot of change, you cannot go wrong with these.
3. Klipsch RF-7 III Floorstanding Speaker Pair
Pros:
- A very classy kind of design
- The build quality is truly amazing
- No complaints at all about the sound
- I genuinely think that the asking price is ideal for these
Cons:
- Cherry wood might not float your boat
- Your wife will tell you to turn them down!
To say that I am a fan of the great audio equipment that Klipsch put out is a massive understatement. These Klipsch RF-7 III Floorstanding Speaker Pair really will blow you away. The asking price is around 3 and a half thousand dollars so they are very much in our price range. What I think makes them stand out is the cherry woodgrain that they have used it. You can knock on these things and be very impressed with how solid they feel. One other thing that makes these stand out is the grill on the front of the speaker. The black and the cherry wood really are the best match since Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora… well before things went wrong. Even the stands look great on these and I thought it was very neat how they make the speakers stand at the slightest of angles.
Klipsch once again knocks it out of the park with the sound. These speakers have to be on any floor standing speakers under $4000 for rock music list. Inside these Klipsch are making use of their newer titanium compression driver. This along with those two 10-inch woofers really does make these rock out. I was in a bit of a Bon Jovi mood when I set these up so Blood on Blood was the first song I played and it was great even without me making my OCD nerdy adjustments. The vocals were solid and the bass…. The bass really did rock the room so much that my wife yelled at me to turn it down from upstairs.
What Other People Are Saying
I was very excited to see that no matter what site or what video I watched; people loved these as much as I did. One particular video review on YouTube goes really into detail about what makes these so great. I would advise that you do not just watch the video, but also read the comments as well. I think that this video showcases just how impressive these speakers are. Here’s another review from AVSForum.
I really could not be any happier with these Klipsch RF-7 III Floorstanding Speaker. I am so impressed with the sound quality as well as the design and build quality that these are in my downstairs man cave as I type this. I legit do not see how anyone could not fall in love with these as soon as they test them out. If you are a rocker like me, these speakers have to make your short list.
4. MartinLogan Motion 60XT Cherrywood Floorstanding Speakers
Pros:
- They look very cool
- The build quality is amazing
- Great sound without breaking them in
- They have quite a slim profile
Cons:
- That redness may not be to your taste
- No other negatives!
What is it with speakers and cherrywood these days? These are speakers that capture your attention as soon as you see them. You know right off the bat that these MartinLogan Motion 60XT Cherrywood Floorstanding Speakers are not for amateur rock and roll fans! I love the build of these things. The cherrywood they have used has a real redness to it and I dig that. The front of the speakers has a grill that I feel could have been a bit better if it was a little more see through.
Currently, a set of these speakers is going to set you back a little over three thousand dollars. “Folded Motion” is the gimmick that is used here. They use this kind of technology with their tweeter which along with the aluminum cone woofer give a really solid sound. You are not going to have any distortion with these things at all, even out of the box. The tweeter deserves special attention as it is much larger than what a standard set of speakers has, this is what I feel gives these speakers such a great sound. If you love your rock loud, I think these are great as you can listen to the music loud, but not lose any of the quality.
What Other People Are Saying
There are a ton of glowing reviews on Amazon for these speakers. A few caught my eye, but especially this one here. “I don’t think you can find a better speaker for even twice the price. The clarity and overall sound quality of them are simply incredible.” That right there really sums up the MartinLogan Motion 60XT Cherrywood Floorstanding Speakers. I have not read a single negative thing about these, not even in regards to the price.
A video review sharing from Edward.
I can tell you right now that these are a front runner for the winner of the best floor standing speakers under $4000 for rock music. I just love everything about these. The design is super elegant, but also very cool. The build quality is really top of the line and they are not too fat which I really like. Then we have the sound which knocked my socks off the moment I played The Scorpions through these as soon as I set them up.
5. Klipsch 5.1 Walnut System 2 RP-8000F Floorstanding Speakers
Pros:
- The style of these is really cool
- You get other speakers and a subwoofer as well
- They have that Klipsch quality to them
- The asking price is a steal for what you are getting
Cons:
- You might not have a use for the other speakers
- Will probably need a larger room if you want to use all five
Of so I have not actually had the chance to check these out and they are a little different to what we have been looking at. However, I think that the Klipsch 5.1 Walnut System 2 RP-8000F Floorstanding Speakers which are part of this set are great. You also have the added bonus of this set coming with a subwoofer, two rear speakers and a center speaker. You are getting a full setup here and currently, it only costs a hair under 3 grand! Plus, all of the speakers that make up this set have that Klipsch quality. Also, let’s not lose sight of the fact that this is one great looking 5.1 setup.
The real “power” that these speakers have is brought by the dual 8-inch copper-spun Cerametallic woofers. I have used other Klipsch speakers before that are made with this same system and the sound is great. They may have a wee bit of breaking time, but that just gives you an excuse to play more records through these things. The fact that this is a full surround sound setup does also mean that this might be an easier sell to your wife!
What Other People Are Saying
If you want to see these speakers in action you can watch an interesting “first impressions” video review that showcases them very well. I can tell from the first song the person plays that these are great. One thing that I found very impressive about these speakers was the vocal clarity of them. I really think that Klipsch has a great product with these two speakers.
While we are specifically looking at floor standing speakers and not full 5.1 systems. I do think that the Klipsch 5.1 Walnut System 2 RP-8000F Floorstanding Speakers is well worth being in the discussion of the best floor standing speakers under $4000 for rock music. Just look at the other speakers you are getting and the subwoofer as a very nice bonus. I really think that this is something a whole family can get a lot of enjoyment out of. Not just a hard rocker like you!
6. Klipsch Forte III Heritage Series Tower Speakers
Pros:
- They look massive!
- Exceptionally powerful bass
Will rock any room they are in
- Uses the best tech that Klipsch has
Cons:
- They are very close to four grand
- Size may be an issue for some
I so, so want to get the chance to check out these epic Klipsch Forte III Heritage Series Tower Speakers. The images make these things look like absolute monsters and that is something I like. They have a black ash coating and it looks very cool and very metal. These are the kind of speakers that songs like Enter Sandman, Welcome to the Jungle and Shout at the Devil are made to be blasted through. They do cost just under four thousand bucks so they are very close to our price limit. If you have the money to play with though I do think these are worth considering.
In reading what is inside these monsters, I am very impressed. These claim to have really powerful bass and thanks to a 15-inch sub-bass radiator I would believe it. These are using some of Klipsch’s most amazing technology and I do think that is part of the reason as to why the asking price is what it is. I would be tempted to crank the bass and the volume all the way up the first time I tried these out. For real headbangers, I think that these speakers have to be something that you consider.
What Other People Are Saying
Check out this short video review if you want the full low down on what makes these such a kickass set of speakers. They do not really showcase any sound, but you get an idea of what these are capable of. If anything, it has made me want to get the chance to test these out even more! You can also get an idea of how large these things are and if you have the floor space, I think that is actually a plus.
I am really blown away by the Klipsch Forte III Heritage Series Tower Speakers and I am trying to figure out how I have missed these speakers in the past! They have such a cool and imposing look to them. You could imagine these being on the side of the stage when Motley Crue was playing LA clubs back in the 80s. The price may be high, but to be fair so is the quality in every regard.
What Is The Best Floor Standing Speaker Under $4000 For Rock Music?
I really do not think that any of the six sets of speakers we have looked at today are bad. They are all great in their own way and I do think that you would be happy no matter what ones you purchased. However, I do have my own personal opinion and there are two that I think do stand out from the rest just a tad.
These are the MartinLogan Motion 60XT Cherrywood Floorstanding Speakers and the Polk Audio LSiM707 Floor Standing Speaker. I feel that both of these could take the crown of the best floor standing speakers under $4000 for rock music. If you like to save up more and spend it on other audio equipments/vinyls, do check out the Bookshelf Speakers for Rock Music under $2000, you might find a gem there.
