I think we have a pretty interesting battle here today with this KRK Rokit 7 G4 and Adam T7V thing that we have going on. I have looked at the KRK Rokit 7 G4 speakers a few times and I have been impressed with what I have experienced with these speakers. The Adam T7V speakers are a fantastic set of speakers and as someone who is a massive fan of Adam Audio, probably the best audio company from Germany, I was very excited to see how these would match up. I do have to say that these are studio monitor speakers, but I am only using them for listening to music as I have less than zero musical talent!
The Price:
We are going to start this KRK Rokit 7 G4 and Adam T7V rage in the cage style showdown by looking at the current asking prices for these speakers. These are not inexpensive, but I have certainly come across much higher priced speakers than both of these in my time writing these articles.
KRK Rokit 7 G4:
The price of the KRK Rokit 7 G4 speakers seems to fluctuate quite a bit over on Amazon, although the last few times I have looked at these they have been priced at $498 for a pair which I do not think is a bad price at all. They do sell these as singular speakers and as they are priced at $239, you can save money by buying them individually which is a bit weird. I did have a look on eBay as I always do and to be honest with you, you are probably not going to save any money by going on there. It is much easier to just get these from Amazon, just make sure you double check to see if it is cheaper to buy two individual speakers than a pair.
Adam T7V:
I have to say that these Adam T7V speakers are very popular and they do go out of stock quite often on Amazon. As I write this, Walmart does have these in stock and they are currently priced at $274 for just one speaker so when you get a pair, the price is very comparable to what the KRK Rokit 7 G4 speakers are going for. From what I have seen on Amazon, they do tend to go for that same price on there. In looking at eBay, you can maybe save a few bucks if you do shop around on there so it is worth checking eBay. However, there are some of those crazy sellers that are charging way more than RRP so avoid those!
The Verdict:
This is such a hard round to call as the price is very comparable. I think though that I have to go with the KRK Rokit 7 G4 speakers (when bought individually) as I think that you are getting a lot of bang for your buck with those if you buy them like that. I am not saying that the asking price of the Adam T7V speakers is out of line or anything like that!
The Design:
The second round in our KRK Rokit 7 G4 and Adam T7V fight to the death today is looking at the design of the speakers. These are two fantastic looking speakers, but they do have a very unique kind of style and I can tell you right now, I am having a hard time deciding which one of these I like the best!
KRK Rokit 7 G4:
How can you not love the design of the KRK Rokit 7 G4 speakers? While you can choose between black and white, we do have to establish that I am talking about the black version here today. These are just so cool, I love the matte black design that they have gone for here, it gives these a very stylish and cool kind of look to them. While the black is great, the gold accents that are used on here really do pop and give the speakers a ton of personality. On paper, I would have thought that the black and gold would not be something that I liked, however, these nailed it and it is quite a spectacular look. They are a decent size too coming in at 29” x 18” x 15” so they do stand out pretty well in your living room or music studio. These are actually one of the few models of speakers where I have not heard anyone have anything negative to say about the design of them.
Each time I have talked bout the KRK Rokit 7 G4 speakers I have mentioned how I love that they have this awesome graphic equalizer on the back of them. It is such a cool feature that I love because it is so unique. However, I am sure if you are into music production, having something like this on the actual speakers is going to be something you find useful as well. You also have a volume and balanced input dial on the back along with your power port as well. It really is a cool design and something that makes this line of speakers really stand out and be unique.
Adam T7V:
Before I was sent a pair of The Adam T7V speakers to check out for myself, I watched this ADAM Audio T7V – Unboxing & First Look video which got me really pumped to get my hands on these.
When they arrived and I opened that box, I was blown away by the weight and overall stature these speakers had. Coming in at 18.2 x 15.4 x 12 inches they are very comparable to the size of the other speakers we have looked at today. However, they just feel like a real high-quality piece of technology when you hold them. These are black for the most part, but they do have a white Adam Audio logo on the bottom. I love the casing design and the little bit of gold here is something I think is really cool. However, I think if they had done the Adam Audio logo in that same gold it would have looked even cooler.
On the back of these, you have a nice and big, loud and proud style Adam Logo which I got a real kick out of. You also have your HF and LF switches, a level dial, and your hookup options as well. It does look a bit too busy if I am being honest, but I do feel that most people will find that these have all they need on the back of here. In all, I think that these are a great looking set of speakers and I think any room or even home music studio would look super cool with these in it!
The Verdict:
While I am a big fan of what Adam Audio has done with the TV7 speakers, I have to give this round to the KRK Rokit 7 G4 speakers. As silly as this sounds, if the Adams had the Adam Audio logo in gold, it would have been a bit closer. However, the style of the 7 G4 speakers is so cool and unique and something that I get a massive kick out of each time I have had to talk about them.
The Sound:
As always, we come to the third round of this KRK Rokit 7 G4 and Adam T7 battle and this is the main event as we look at the sound capabilities. These are made for people who like to make music so that is always important to keep in mind. However, I love listening to music and I think that I do have a good ear, so here are my honest thoughts on the sound you can expect from these.
KRK Rokit 7 G4:
I have been pretty impressed with the sound capabilities of the KRK Rokit 7 G4 speakers each time I have used them. These may only have a 6.5-inch woofer in them, but I would not say that they are completely lacking in power. However, you do notice a difference between these and a larger set of speakers, but that is to be expected. I think that with the right kind of tweaking, you can get the sound just perfect for you with these, I ended up listening to WWE Presents Triple H: The Evolution of The Game which my lovely wife bought me as an anniversary gift a while back. Anyway, even though these are not super powerful, when that guitar riff hit, I was like, holy crap, and very impressed with what I was hearing. I did play around with the accompanying app that goes with these speakers and got the sound pretty damn perfect for my little ears!
I do think that there are certainly more powerful speakers than the KRK Rokit 7 G4 speakers on the market, but these are very impressive and do what they do well. I think that they have a great balanced sound, even if you do not play with the settings. If you were listening to something like Nevermind by Nirvana you will really notice how balanced and on point all of the instrumentation is when piped through these speakers. I think that for a smaller sized room or studio, these are more than powerful enough to give you exactly what you need.
Adam T7V:
I have to say that The Adam T7V speakers offer a very similar kind of sound to what the KRK Rokit 7 G4 speakers are offering. If you check out something like this Best Budget Studio Monitors | ADAM Audio T7V Review & Honest Opinion video, you can get a better idea of what you can expect from these speakers.
I though have to say that most people (myself included) will probably not be able to tell much difference when it comes to the sound quality of these speakers. They say that there is a 7-inch woofer here so in theory there should be a bit more power and there is, but it is not so much that you really notice it if you know what I am saying. These do have a decent amount of power to them considering their size, but again, like the KRK speakers, these are not as powerful as larger speakers.
An album that I love to listen to when I am just going about my business or looking to relax is Fleetwood Mac’s Greatest Hits. I have heard these songs many times and felt that they sounded great through them. As these are made with music production in mind, as you would expect they have a very balanced kind of sound and I am sure if you are willing to play around with them a bit, you can get the sound very much to your liking. In all, I think that Adam Audio has done a fantastic job with these speakers and they tick all the boxes of what I would expect from a set of speakers with Adam Audio on them!
The Verdict:
Is there really enough of a difference here for me to make a definitive comment about which one sounds the best? Well, I do kind of have to as that is the point here. While you could argue that the Adam T7V speakers have a wee bit more power. For me personally, I think that the KRK Rokit 7 G4 speakers have a slightly better balanced sound so I am picking them as the winner of this round.
Which Is The Better Speaker?
I have had a great deal of fun putting this KRK Rokit 7 G4 and Adam T7V contest together today. I have done a great number of these AND articles and I think this one here is close to the top of the list when it comes to two products that are so close to each other that it is hard to pick a winner. However, as much as I like the Adam T7V speakers, I am picking the KRK Rokit 7 G4 speakers as my winner. I preferred the sound ever so slightly with these, but it is more the fantastic and unique design that they have that really made me swing towards these speakers.
