I have been really impressed with the range of Wet Sounds 8-Inch speakers that are on offer. Wet Sounds is one of the very best when it comes to marine audio and for those that want a premium product, you will struggle to top what Wet Sounds are offering. Today I am looking at some of the fantastic speakers they offer at this size and trying to help you guys pick the right set of speakers for your boat, ATV, or wherever it is you need waterproof speakers. Speaking of waterproof speakers be sure to check out the many reviews and articles we have done on waterproof speakers other on the site.
Why Should I Go For Wet Sounds?
I will admit that when I first heard about Wet Sounds, I was very excited, but then when I went to the site, I realized that they offer a premium product, but at a premium price. This is not the company you go for if you want a set of waterproof speakers that are going to cost you fifty bucks! Once I started looking at the products they offered, I realized that these are speakers, subwoofers and so on that are aimed at people who want the very best of the best. The reason the prices are what they are is that they do not cut corners and only use the best when it comes to components.
The way I see it is if you want a waterproof speaker for lounging by the pool, you probably do not need to be spending over a grand. I actually looked at some great marine soundbars that are way under a thousand bucks. However, those that have a boat which is no small chunk of change might want something a bit more robust and that is who these kinds of speakers are aimed at.
Looking At The Wet Sounds 8-Inch Speakers
Before we start, I do need to tell you that the speakers we are looking at today, Wet Sounds refer to as their tower speakers so keep that in mind. Another thing to add is that as I write this, they offer 14 speakers, but these include the same model in different colors. Also, Wet Sounds give you a choice of the kind of clamps you get with each of their speakers so be sure to make sure you get the right ones for your setup.
Wet Sounds offer speakers at six different price points so I thought we would look at one at each price point.
1. REV 8 B-X V2 | Wet Sounds Revolution Series 8″ Black Tower Speakers
First up is the cheapest offering and that is the REV 8 B-X V2 | Wet Sounds Revolution Series 8″ Black Tower Speaker. This set of speakers is a little over a thousand bucks. These seem like a solid set of speakers and they are designed with high-quality audio in mind. I think that the asking price is more than fair and they would serve anyone well wanting that Wet Sounds quality, but who wants to be as close to the thousand mark as possible. These have a high-performance woofer with a titanium driver pushing the sound which sounds impressive to me.
2. REV 8 W-FC SA V2 | Wet Sounds Revolution Series 8″ White Tower Speakers
For an extra fifty bucks you can get these REV 8 W-FC SA V2 | Wet Sounds Revolution Series 8″ White Tower Speakers. I love the style of these and they certainly have that “marine” look to them which I like. These have a really classy look to them and I am sure the driver and woofer they have used (which are made from the highest quality materials) are going to really rock your boat. The white design will really make them stand out which is great if you want them to go with the aesthetic of your boat.
3. REV 8 B-SXM V2 | Wet Sounds Revolution Series 8″ Black Tower Speakers
Going up another fifty bucks on our list of Wet Sounds 8-inch speakers are these REV 8 B-SXM V2 | Wet Sounds Revolution Series 8″ Black Tower Speakers which are offering 400 watts of power. These look super, super cool. I have gone with the black ones as I love the way the chrome on the grille looks with the black design. For those that want a set of speakers that are as much about the look as they are the sound, I think these would be great. Of course, if they are worth that extra bit of money is up to you.
4. REV 8 W-FC V2 | Wet Sounds Revolution Series 8″ White Tower Speakers
Coming in at around 13 hundred bucks are these very flashy looking REV 8 W-FC V2 | Wet Sounds Revolution Series 8″ White Tower Speakers. These do also come in black, but I think it is the white version of these that really does grab your attention. These have a chrome finish to them, but you do not notice it at first. This is an aspect of the design that I really do like. As much as I love Wet Sounds, they do not go into great detail as to what is powering these, but woofers are reinforced with Kevlar which sounds very impressive.
5. REV 8 B-SC V2 | Wet Sounds Revolution Series 8″ Black Tower Speakers
We are going up a full hundy with these REV 8 B-SC V2 | Wet Sounds Revolution Series 8″ Black Tower Speakers. I checked out the specs of these and I was very impressed with the tech that is providing the bass and the mid-range sound. 400 watts is more than enough power to rock any boat, no matter how loud the engine is. I know that the asking price is steep, but these are very high quality all throughout. While I have selected the black as I love the way it goes with the chrome, these do also come in white.
6. REV 8 W-SC V2 MINI | Wet Sounds REV Series 8″ White Tower Speakers
Last, but by no means least are these REV 8 W-SC V2 MINI | Wet Sounds REV Series 8″ White Tower Speakers which are the most expensive offerings from Wet Sounds. These are their showcase speakers and I know they are not cheap, but just look at these things! They look very sleek, sexy, and cool and would be great for parties on your boat. I have checked out the specs and they are impressive, but if they are worth the extra money is going to be something you have to decide.
Should I Buy A Set Of Wet Sounds Speakers?
I would love to personally get my hands on a set of Wet Sounds 8-inch speakers. These are the premium when it comes to marine audio and I get that some people cannot look past the price, but these are very special! I do wish that Wet Sounds could give a bit more information on their site about the specifics on each set of speakers as much of what they write does look like it is just copied and pasted from a different model! So, make sure you do as much research as possible before you decide which model to buy. If it was me, I must admit I feel that the lowest-priced, REV 8 B-X V2 | Wet Sounds Revolution Series 8″ Black Tower Speakers seem more than good enough for me.
